The program aims to foster STEM education in the military and civilian communities. The grant program, established in 2019, has awarded over $1.5 million in funding to support STEM education initiatives across North Carolina. The program has a strong focus on supporting teachers and educators in their efforts to integrate STEM concepts into their classrooms.

The grant will allow Perdue to introduce students to the fundamentals of cybersecurity, including network security, intrusion detection, and incident response. He plans to use the virtual server farm to simulate real-world scenarios, allowing students to practice their skills in a safe and controlled environment. Perdue believes that cybersecurity is a critical skill in today’s world, and he is excited to provide his students with the opportunity to learn about this growing field.

Britt’s project will focus on the importance of biodiversity and the interconnectedness of ecosystems. She will introduce students to the concept of food webs and how different organisms rely on each other for survival. The project will also incorporate hands-on activities, such as building miniature ecosystems in jars, to help students understand the complex interactions within an ecosystem.
